UNIFORM
Whilst we do not enforce uniform from the very first lesson, we do like students to obtain the correct clothing as soon as they can. The correct shoes are the best place to start, especially with classes such as Ballet and Tap where the right shoes are very important indeed. We have chosen to keep the uniform simple for each class and as inexpensive as possible. Many items are worn for more than one class. Each outfit is clearly outlined below and at the bottom of the page is a price list that we believe you will find VERY competitive.
WE NOW HAVE A RANGE OF "WARM UP" CLOTHING ITEMS. THESE INCLUDE HOODIES, JOGGERS AND VEST TOPS. ALL HAVE THE PRELUDE LOGO ON THEM AND ARE SUITABLE FOR CLASS WORK AND TRAVELLING TO AND FROM EVENTS AND COMPETITIONS.

Musical Theatre Classes

 Students in this class should wear:
* Jazz Pants * Black, High Neck, Keyhole Back, Leotard * Black Jazz Shoes or Jazz Trainers * Royal Blue School T-shirt The "Basic Black" items are often used as the basis for costumes in shows, presentations and competitions so the students certainly get alot of wear out of them. |
Ballet |
Uniform for Ballet is set by the BATD. They have high standards in their exams and students must be particular about their appearance. * Black, High Neck, Key Hole Back, Leotard * Black Chiffon Ballet Skirt * Pink Leather Ballet Shoes (with ribbons if above Grade I) * Pink Ballet Socks (seamed tights if above Grade I)

Tap |
Uniform for Tap is also set by the BATD, and whilst there is flexibility for the style of tap shoe worn, a classic "Oxford" or "Cuban Heeled" tap is preferred. Disco/Jazz/Street/Hip Hop

 We ask that students wear their "Basic Black" uniforms for these classes though many prefer to wear comfortable "dance" or "sports" clothing to these classes. Two items we DO NOT want students to wear, however, are jeans or skirts. These are not appropriate for a dance class as they restrict movement for various and obvious reasons. School Logo tracksuits will also soon be available so keep your eyes on the "news" column on the right of your screen to see when the first order is being placed! |
