DISCO

2 Girls Dancing with Pom Poms
Disco Classes allow a freedom of expression and movement that is sometimes restricted in more formal dance styles.

Classes have the emphasis placed on performance and fun!  Modern pop music is most frequently used and often themes influence the dances and competition pieces.  This class is the more often than not working towards a competition or show, and continues to be asked on numerous occasions to perform at Charity Events and Shows across the Borough.  Those who attend the classes also have the opportunity to attend try-outs for the dance teams: Sparkles, Super Nova and Velocity.  This class also stresses the importance on flexibility and stamina and all classes include a warm up that develops these vital abilities for a dancer.

HIP HOP AND STREET

Competition Team - Tic Toc
Dance continues to evolve and move with the times and this class strives to keep up if not ahead!!

A relatively new addition to the classes of Prelude, Hip Hop uses current music and the influence of Music Videos to drive them forward.  Students are encouraged in their own choreography in order to develop unique styles and approaches to dance, whilst still maintaining the ability to work as part of a team.  Isolation, control and dynamics are focused on.  Students work towards shows, presentations and competitions.  Flexibility and core strength is important and this is recognised in the warm ups.
