BALLET |
![]() Ballet forms the core technique for anyone wanting to pursue a career in dance.
At Prelude, Ballet Classes follow the British Association of Teachers of Dance syllabus (BATD). The BATD provides nationally recognised qualifications in Ballet and many other forms of dance and performance. The syllabus provides a sound basis to develop strong technique and performance skills that can easily be transferred to other dance styles. The grading system starts at Pre-primary (for young dancers 3+) and progresses on to the Associate Level at which a student can become qualified to teach. Along the way students have the opportunity to take accredited medal tests and perform in Presentations, Shows and Competitions. |
TAP |
![]() Tap is the perfect way for any dancer - young or old - to learn to feel the natural rhythm of dance. Prelude Tap Classes also follow the British Association of Teachers of Dance Syllabus. Whilst graded exercises are learnt in order to develop a student's technique and "dance vocabulary" the emphasis is on the performance of such steps. With this in mind Classes work predominately towards Medal Tests and the subsequent Trophy and Ribbon Awards. Regular presentations keep parents up to date with the progress of their child and competitions encourage the students to push themselves to their very best. |
