Joanne Abraham

Joanne Abraham
Assistant Teacher. Musical Theatre, Dance and Drama.

After a 3 year course in performing arts Jo decided to expand and further her knowledge by becoming an assistant teacher. Jo was with the Prelude Theatre Arts School for four years as a student and it was a natural progression to take on more responsibilities both in the studio and back stage. Alongside her teaching duties Jo is currently working towards formal qualifications in ballet and tap, accredited by the BATD. Jo has been in numerous shows over her many years of performing. Some of these include: Leading Lady roles in Disco Inferno and Grease, We Will Rock You, Back to the Top, You Can't Stop the Beat, What is this Thing Called Love, and Lord of the Flies: again as one of the leading roles. She has also participated in a number of local dance and musical theatre competitions. Her backstage experience has ranged from Stage Management to costume construction and sound engineering. Jo is grateful that she has this opportunity to pass on her knowledge to students in the school and is looking forward to the challenges ahead.
